Truck driving is a rewarding field for many people that want to travel around the country, enjoy the opportunity for upward growth, and start a new career fairly quickly. Florida has a fairly prominent trucking industry. In the city of Saint Petersburg, there is one school with a truck driving program: Pinellas Technical Education Center.
At this school, you can choose between two main truck driving programs. The Class B training program consists of 150 hours. The Class A training program consists of 320 hours, which you complete over the course of three months.
Saint Petersburg is a fairly large city of almost 247,000 people. Its cost of living is well below the national average. I-275 and U.S. Highway 19 both run through the city. Trucking companies in this area include Interstate Transport, KIMS Trucking, and Tyler Sheff Inc.
